Asking gateway connection for power bi datasets

Hi All,

Using multiple data sources such as SQL server, Power BI datasets, python, web and developed reports as per the requirement using Power BI desktop by one of the user and published into Power BI service. while accesing report in service saying gateway is required for Power bi datasets, sql server and web based. I know that gateway is required for SQL server but here my question is gateway is not required for web and power bi datasets because these two data sources are cloud based. May i know why i am getting gateway is required for web and power bi datasets.

Note: when i clicked add to gateway under dataset settings the data source it is showing Analysis services.

It's an all of nothing kind of thing. If one of your sources require a gateway everything refreshes through that gateway. Reason being that the data mashup needs to happens in the gateway (eg if you're merging different sources). I think the idea is it reduces data transit in those situations.
