Acquire premium capacity

Hello, I have a Power BI Premium per-user license and I want to buy or acquire the premium capacity per user. I have tried to contact the sales agents requesting the premium capacity but they do not respond to my messages.

I would like to know if I can enable the premium capacity without depending on the sales agents.

  • Hi PURPSAdeCV - Unfortunately, as an individual user with a Power BI Premium Per User (PPU) license, you cannot enable Premium capacity independently. Premium capacity (dedicated capacity) is a feature designed for organizational use, and it requires purchasing a Premium subscription at the capacity level, which is managed at the tenant or organizational level.

Check Your Organization's IT or Admin Team:

If you are part of an organization, reach out to your IT department or Power BI admin. They may already have Premium capacity or can guide you on the procurement process.
Purchase Through the Microsoft Admin Center:

Premium capacity licenses (P1, P2, etc.) must be purchased through your organization's Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Only a Global Admin or a Billing Admin can make this purchase.
    Contact Microsoft Support Directly:

Instead of relying solely on sales agents, use Microsoft's direct support channels:
Visit the Microsoft Support Portal and raise a ticket.
Call the regional Microsoft support number for direct assistance.
    Evaluate Needs for Premium Capacity:

Determine if your work can be managed with PPU. If only sharing content broadly is the limitation, your organization might consider granting PPU licenses to others or upgrading to Premium capacity.
