When I created my free PowerBI account the email address it assigned is one I used at a former client, not the one I entered for my personal business. When I login to the Power BI service that is the email that appears under the account Icon. When I try to delete the account it says I need to contact the company's system admin. This is an account I created and has nothing to do with the company email address that was assigned to the account. How do I change this?
If you are a tenant user, you need to contact your tenant admin and ask them to unassign the license from your account. Please refer to https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-admin-closing-your-account/#managed-tenant....
Best Regards,
Herbert
I am not a tennat user of this company. That is the problem. I was on assignment to them and may have been logged into their VPN at the time I created the PowerBI account but it was not created using the email address for the client company. It was created using the email address for my company. Furthermore, I created a second PowerBI account using a dummy email from my company. I made sure that I was not logged in to the client VPN when the account was created and it worked for a time but then it too was assigned to my client company email address. This happened without any input from me. The work that I had uploaded to the PowerBI server prior to the reassgnment is no longer visible to me. I really don't want to get my client company involved in this matter and I would understand if they became concerned because I appear to be accessing their system. I regard this as a serious matter as will they, if they find out about it. Please work on a resolution as quickly as possible.
