Accessing Query Editor data in Power BI service
- 7 years ago
Hi ayushqralgroup,
If I understand your scenario correctly that you created a report with the SFDC which has been filterd data in Query Editor, then you publish the report to Power BI Service. You have concern that if the end user could have access to the complete data source which has not been filtered in Query Editor in Power BI Service.Actually, If end user do not have the edit permission of the report, they cannot have access to the dataset and the underlying data source.
If your end user have the edit permission of the report, so they could have access to the dataset of the report and may could download the report as pbix. By my test, for some datasource which don't need crendential, if the end user download the pbix, they could access to the query editor so they could see all the options setps for the datasource in query editor.
For your scenario, it seems that if you connect SalesForce data source, you need to enter your credential, so when end user download the pbix from Power BI Service, they should be asked for enter the crendential to see all the data in Query Editor.
