Hi,
I am have created a new workspace (upgraded version) which I am trying to share with a distribution group.
I have made sure that the workspace is on Premium and the users are able to the see the new workspace under their "Shared with me" section, though when the try to open a report the "Upgrade to Power BI pro" error appears.
I have also tried to share the workspace with an individual user rather than a DG, played around with the access levels (viewer, contributor, member) and also tried to share an individual report in the workspace rather than the entire workspace with the same result.
Any ideas?
Thanks 🙂
hi @Anonymous
From the documentation :https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-new-workspaces#licensing
When the workspace is in a Power BI Premium capacity, users with the Viewer role can access the workspace even if they don't have a Power BI Pro license. However, if you assign these users a higher role like Admin, Member, or Contributor, they're prompted to start a Pro Trial when they try to access the workspace. To make use of the Viewer role for users without Pro licenses, make sure they don't have other workspace roles, too, either individually or through a user group.
Regards,
Lin
