ACCESS TO GUEST USERS (B2B External Users)

All Power BI Admin folks out there,

Request

Report (paginated) to be shared with external users

Current Setup

  1. Power BI Desktop
  2. Power BI Pro (trial)
  3. Power BI Admin - Internal IT

Specific Ask

  1. What are the best practices to facilitate B2B report access?
  2. What privileges would be requred?
  3.  Is there any alternate approach, if any?

Hi @shannoypaul ,

The rule of thumb is that for anybody to see a report, they need to have a PRO license.  With a trial license I don't believe that you can share any report (or workspace).  That said, to share a report with external users you have to share with the userid that has the license - whether that is their companies userid or one within your company that you share with them.

If you have Premium (which you indicate that you do not) then sharing is a bit easier but you still are using the license for a user theory.
