add free text column in a database

Hi, 

as you can see in pictures below we are working with a live connection with underlying database. I would like to add notes/comments in a table visualized in power bi (also visible below). These notes or comments (free text format in the database) should also be inserted in a column/record in the database so these notes could also be quered via our live connection. Does one of you have any suggestion/recommendations for creating such free text fields in the database? This will make our reports more valuable and more relevant and provides our the possibility to add

From your description, it looks like there is a SSAS model, and you would like to add an additional table to the SSAS model ( contains data for table visual in Power BI), right? 

For your requirement, you need to do it on SSAS side. I would suggest you post a new thread in SSAS forum to get help: https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/home?forum=sqlanalysisservices

By the way, to add a comment for specific visuals on Power BI side, you could use report page tooltip feature, see: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-tooltips
