Where is data cached? (SQL Import Mode)

Hello - I am trying to understand where the cache for my datasets lives in the PowerBI service. I'll be refreshing on a schedule with an on premises data gateway, and need to know if the cache lives on the gateway pc, somewhere in the cloud, or elsewhere.

The data is stored in the Microsoft cloud, it's definitely not stored on the gateway pc. That is only used as a proxy to help traverse any firewalls between the on-prem data and the cloud.
