Use a custom theme on Desktop

Hello everyone,

 

I just have a question regarding the use of custom theme.

 

I know there is no preview features on "PBI Desktop for Report Server" but do you know if I use a custom theme on Power BI Desktop, will it be available and will it work properly when I upload my report to Report Server ?

    Hi,

     

    this preview feature ist only availible on Power BI online with the fitting Desktop Version. So it is not availible on the Power Report Server Version. I'm also waiting for this feature and for me it is nopt clear, why this feature is already not finally released.

      It's a pity it doesn't work already on Report Server though.. :(

    Hi,

     

    I was able to get themes into Power BI Desktop (RS Marts 2018) with a workaround.

     

    If you use an older version (older than the RS Marts 2018) of Power BI Desktop (for the Service) enable the themes feature and import a custom theme. Save the file and open the pbix file with PBI desktop (RS marts 2018) then the theme will be there.

     

    Also I think that you could rename the pbix to zip and edit the layout file. Though i havent tried that.

     

    Hoping to the feature in the next version without this workaround.

      Nice idea  and workaround :-)

      But for a deployment with more users than one - horrible ;-)

       

      I don't think that the fetures comes with the new rekease, that expected end of August. Becse the feature is still in preview.
