Use Wildcard Operator

Suppose I have this column to filter such that I want only values start from BXC. How to achieve in paginated report. I am not using query but using existing semantic model

The best way to achieve is via * operator 
You can configured the wildcard filter and add expression as your columnnB, operator : like and value: type BXC*

There are many ways to do this, pleaes try following:

1:

Using LIKE with Wildcards

1. Add a filter to your dataset or tablix

2. Set the filter expression to your column name

3. Set the operator to like

4. Set the value to: BXC%

Expression: [YourColumnName]
Operator: Like
Value: BXC%

2:

Using LEFT Function

1. 1. Add a filter to your dataset or tablix

   2. Set the filter expression to:

      text

      =LEFT(Fields!YourColumnName.Value, 3)

   3. Set the operator to =

   4. Set the value to: BXC

3:

Using InStr Function

For more complex pattern matching:

Expression: =InStr(Fields!YourColumnName.Value, "BXC")
Operator: =
Value: 1

This ensures "BXC" appears at the beginning (position 1).

Steps to Implement:

1. Right-click on your dataset/tablix → Properties

2. Go to the Filters tab

3. Click Add

4. Configure the filter using one of the methods above

5. Click OK

The wildcard % in the LIKE operator matches any sequence of characters, so BXC%  will match:

• ✅ BXC1234

• ✅ BXC77882

• ✅ BXCIUYH

• ❌ ABCGDEE (doesn't start with BXC)

• ❌ DFGUYSH (doesn't start with BXC)

Note: The exact filter dialog may vary slightly depending on whether you're filtering at the dataset level or the tablix level, but the expression syntax remains the same.
