Unexpected number of disk files associated with database object. Possible cause for that is missing

After we upgrade our on-premise server to Version1.20.8926.40580(May 2024), some our scheduled report refresh will get the following error:

[0] -1054998449: Unexpected number of disk files associated with database object. Possible cause for that is missing or corrupt cryptokey.bin or detach.log file.

anyone can provide some insights?

Hi @JenZ ,

For such problems, if the backup file is encrypted, the password specified during the backup must be provided before you can use the file to restore the Analysis Services database. If the encryption key file is lost, you will never be able to decrypt the backup file. You cannot decrypt it using another generated CryptoKey.bin file (otherwise this would be a big security issue).

If it still doesn't work, try rolling back the version:

We do not have Analysis Services database, how come still get this error message?
