Hello dear community,
I hope you are doing well.
I have a question about using DirectQuery and Power BI Report Server.
I would like to connect 2 Oracle tables as the source.
They are in 2 different databases. I looked on the community, I found an article from 2017 saying it was limited to a database put by clicking on the link, I no longer see this restriction (docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-use-directquery#limiitations-of-directquery)
But when I try to connect to another table I have this message:
The data source you are trying to connect to is different from the existing DirectQuery data source. To continue, you must put all queries in Import mode, which can cause a large amount of data to be loaded.
I have the latest version of the Power BI ReportServer and the September 2021 version for the thick client.
Do you have an idea ?
Thank you
Dimitri

This limitation is removed in the Power BI Desktop normal version but not in the Power BI Desktop for RS version. For now, if you don't have very larges tables, you can just switch them to import mode.
