Hi,
I'm using PBI (Report Server) and am connecting to our corporate SSAS cube. I can easily enough use a Line Chart to trend a cube measure over time using our "Calendar" dimension, which has a Hierarchy defined as: Fiscal Year and Month.
The chart looks fine, however the "Forecasting" function is unavailable on the "Analytics" pane. Is this due to using the above Hierarchy instead of an actual "Date" field? Is there a method to get the "Forecasting" feature working against SSAS cubes which have Date Dimensions/Hierarchies defined?
Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,
Based on my test, "Forecast" will only appear when using a actual date field on X-axis. Also, if we enable date hierarchy for a date field but remove some hierarchy levels, "Forecast" won't be available.
Best regards,
Yuliana Gu

Hello. I am also having the same issue. It is not why does the FC not appear, but rather is there a FC limitation when using an SSAS data source VS tables/views/Excel, etc?
Hello there , have you figured out why there is a restricrion on SSAS cube ?
