SASS data connection fails in web portal, but works in power bi desktop (August 2017 versions)

I cannot access my tabular model in SSAS once I upload the report into the web portal. I am double checking the data connection values, and they are testing successful, but the data has a problem loading.  It all loads and displays fine in the desktop app.

 

This error is all I get:

Something went wrong
 Unable to load the model
Please try again later or contact support. If you contact support, please provide these details.

hi Jack,

 

I'm guessing you are using Live connection to your SSAS model. In Data Source tab in your report's properties, what connection option have you selected? You may need to enter explicit username/password in there. If you are using embedded data (August preview supports this) then the Data Source tab does not show.
