Hi, I cannot find any explicit reference from Microsoft whether it is supported or unsupported to run Power BI Report Server on top of Windows Server Core. In the requirements it says that Windows Server 2019 Standard is supported https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/system-requirements but it does not explicitly say whether Server Core installation option is included. In the SQL documentation in contrast, it says that SQL Reporting Services feature does not support Server Core: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/database-engine/install-windows/install-sql-server-on-server-co.... One could conclude that Power BI Report Server has the same requirements as SQL Reporting Services but I'd really appreciate official info from MS.

Hi @Anonymous ,
As you have discovered, powerbi report server has many of the same requirements and prerequisites as SSRS. This includes the fact that SQL Server does not support the installation of server core on the report service feature.
Thank you for these references. If the problem has been solved you can mark the reply for the standard answer to help the other members find it more quickly. If not, please point it out.
Best Regards,
Henry
