Report Server Data Gateway

Is it possible to schedule a refresh on the Power BI Report Server through some gateway? The service allows it through the portal, but not sure how the report server would do the same.

Hi @lo_p_ez,

 

No. It is not possible to schedule a refresh on PBI Report Server through gateway.

 

If the data source used in Power BI report is live connected to SSAS, there is no need to configure schedule refresh for dataset.  Automatic refresh is supported. But if you load imported data into Power BI, currently scheduled refresh is not available.

 

Please pay attention to these limitations, reference: August 2017 (preview)

  • Scheduled data refresh is currently not available for reports using imported data.
  • DirectQuery data connections are not currently supported.
