Remove Data Source

Hi,

I have pbix file which only have 1 data source remaining.

The problem is everytime we publish it into PowerBI Report Server, it will automatically show 2 Data Source as attached.Data Source.PNG

How can I remove the first Data Source?

Thank you.

Is it possible to try deleting the report from the Portal and then re-publish it. It could be an orphaned data source that has not been cleaned up correctly. (note that you would have to re-create any scheduled refresh operations and possibly re-enter permissions if they are different from the parent folder permissions)

As a test you could create a copy of this report with a different name and publish that to the Report Server and check that it only has the new data source.

I did try all of your suggestions, but everytime I publish this pbix (including different name), it will still display 2 data sources.

You can only edit the data sources using Power BI Desktop. The most likely explanation for this that there is some minor difference in the details that you have scribbled out that make Report Server think this 1 data source is 2 different data sources. It could possibly even be as small a difference as some upper or lower case characters. If you fix this so that all your tables have the identical data sources and re-publish to Report Server then you should only see the one data source.

Hi,

I have made sure all the tables have identical data sources.

But after I publish it, it still comes with 2 data source, of which the 1st data source is completely unrelated and different name. Historically speaking, that was the previous data source, but I have made sure that all the tables are now referring to new Data Source.
