Re: Power Bi Destop connection failure

Hi Team, I get SSL error while trying to establish connections between power bi report server desktop and the single store database.

Unable to connect 

Details:ODBC: ERROR [HY000] [ss-1.1.5] access denied for user ... The user is configured with require SSL but the connection is not SSL.

 

Could you please help.

Hi @Ashwinis ,

In Power BI Desktop, when setting up the connection to your database, ensure that you're specifying to use an SSL connection. This is usually an option in the advanced settings of the data source connection dialog.

Ensure that the database server is configured to support SSL connections. This usually involves setting up an SSL certificate on the database server. If you are unsure how to do this, please review the following documentation:

How to configure SSL encryption in SQL Server (mssqltips.com)

If the database is properly configured for SSL and you are still experiencing problems, it may be related to the fact that the computer on which Power BI Desktop is installed does not trust the SSL certificate. You may need to install the database's SSL certificate into a trusted root certificate store on the client computer.

After installing the SSL certificate, add the data source in the gateway.
