So just claryfying;

1. you can use a imported mode with any datasource, you just can't refresh it?

2. you can still only refresh with SSAS live connection

3. you can develop in any version of power bi desktop?

1. You can use any data source that works in Power BI Desktop (RS version)

2. SSAS Live connection still works, you cannot refresh other data source

3. You need to use Power BI Desktop (RS August 2017 Preview) version
