Proxy an external user with the existing user to see the data in power BI report

Hi All,

We are developing our reports in power bi report server. Our report has all the information related to sales. Currently the report can only be viewed by the sales teams users. Row level security is enabled for these users. Now we got a requirement like The Business users or the Managers from the different teams need to view this report. When ever a business user is logging in the complete report is showing the blank values as the row level security is enabled only for sales teams users.

Is it possible to proxy a business user with any of the sales teams members so a business user can be able to see the data in the report. Need help asap.

Thanks,

Hemanth

Yes, it is possible.

You can create additional ROLE for managers, which will not be affected by RLS. It is quick and simple solution.

Or you can enhance RLS, to show rows, not only by simple compare current user and row owner, but you can use e.g. organisational hierarchy, to enable manager see data of their memerships. It is more advanced solution.
