Hi,
We have users that are trying to upload .pbix files that are around 1.03GB.
We have PowerBI Report Server - SQL Enterprise edition with Software Assurance, Version 15.
Desktop version september 2019.
We are aware that you can increase the Max file size upload within the SQL Server Management Studio tool. Which we increase intially to 2GB (2000MB) but the users were still facing the same error saying the file size was too big to upload and to increase the limit on the Report Server. We then made it 6GB (6000MB) in order to give it some room hoping that it would be uploaded successfully, this also failed.
Is the file size a hard limit and no matter what we put in this field it stays at 1GB? are there other settings we need to change to make this work?
Please help 🙂
Thanks!
Not sure but You could check the Issues forum here:
https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues
And if it is not there, then you could post it.
If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".
Been searching this for a few days now. The only post i have seen have been old post from 2016-2017 and this is where i saw the details about changing the MaxFileUploadSize option.
Havent seen any posts with resolutions for 2019-2020.
I dont seem to have Pro account so cant ask there 😉
If you have Power BI Report server, you should have some account/plan that you can open up a ticket with Microsoft regarding this issue. Would be surprised if they wouldn't allow you to open one via the mechanism specified but I don't know. Hmm, I'll poke around for some options.
