Hello,
Power BI: Something went wrong
We couldn't run the report because we couldn't connect to its data source. The report or data source might not be configured correctly.
Please try again later or contact support. If you contact support, please provide these details.
We couldn't connect to the Analysis Services server. Make sure you've entered the connection string correctly.
It seems that it was / is also a problem in the december version: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Report-Server/PowerBI-Server-October-DirectQuery-to-SQL-Server-tabl...
We are still facing this issue with Power BI Desktop January 2019 version.
1. Start Power BI Desktop January 2019
2. Create a new report using DirectQuery
3. Get Data -> SQL Server Database -> Enter Server IP (or Name, we tried both) -> Select View -> DirectQuery
4. Use Database Authentification: Username + Passwort
5. In Power BI Desktop January 2019 you can see data.
6. Publish report to the Power-BI Report Server (OnPremise)
7. Set Username + Password inside the "Manage" Tab
8. Check connection: Connection is successful
9. Open report in the browser -> The error msg is shown instead of data
Power BI - Report Server: 1.4.6969.7395 (Januar 2019)
Power BI - Desktop: 2.65.5313.1562 32-bit (Januar 2019)
Any ideas? Thanks!
