PowerBI Report Server (August Preview) and DirectQuery in PowerBI reports

Hi

 

Does the "DirectQuery" connectivity mode (to a sql server database) work for powerbi reports? It works when on PowerBI Desktop (report server) but as soon as it is published it fails with: 

 

Something went wrong
Unable to load the model
Please try again later or contact support. If you contact support, please provide these details.
Request ID03f76e0f-0164-ab35-a42b-2ccdb7109b1f

Will it be enabled in the next GA release?

What is your data source? It was orginally released just with live connectivity to SSAS.

Hi @Anonymous,

 

Power BI Report Server August Preview doesn't support DirectQuery data connections, apart from Analysis Services live connections.
