Hi everyone, I’m trying to use DirectQuery with a ClickHouse data source in Power BI Report Server. In Power BI Desktop the ClickHouse connector lets me work in DirectQuery mode without any issues. However, the same connector is not available in Power BI Report Server. The ClickHouse documentation (see https://clickhouse.com/docs/integrations/powerbi) suggests using an ODBC connection for the server version, but the ODBC driver only supports Import mode. Because I’m dealing with several billions of rows, Import mode is not feasible for me. Can anyone confirm whether DirectQuery with ClickHouse is possible in Power BI Report Server? If it is supported, could you point me to the required steps or a suitable driver? Otherwise, are there any work‑arounds to achieve near‑real‑time querying on such large datasets? Thank you for your help!Solved3.3KViews0likes4CommentsDirectQuery Impala Connector for Power BI Report Server
According to the documentation, Scheduled Refresh and DirectQuery are not supported for the Impala connector in Power BI Report Server? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/data-sources However, in the Power BI Desktop for Report Server, DirectQuery is one of the options for connection. Can anyone clarify if DirectQuery is really supported or not for the Impala Connector in Power BI Report Server? Hello Community, i am trying to configure a working DirectQuery from my Report Server to an MSSQL-Server which is not running ob the same server. But i can't figure out how to configure the authentication in the right way. I build an report with DirectQuery in Power IB Desktop, everything works fine. When i publish the report to my report server and start it in the web frontend, i get an error message: An unexpected error occurred. Please try again later. Please try again later or contact support. If you contact support, please provide these details. We couldn't connect to the Analysis Services server. Make sure you've entered the connection string correctly. At the same time the log of the MSSQL-Server shows an login failure "Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS'." from the Report Server. So it seems that my login at the web frontend isn't passed to the MSSQL-Server. I've done some research and found an possible solution in the documentation: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/power-bi/report-server/configure-kerberos-powerbi-reports A Domain-Admin helped me to configure the SPNs in the way that the documentation says, but it won't work. Greetings everyone! I'm having trouble configuring the RLS for my report. I've searched several sources on youtube, but nothing has been able to help me. At first I have 2 tables: And I configured the RLS as shown in the image below: When I use EmailBP from BPs por Entidade table in a slicer, I can filter PEOPLE VW_FACT_INDI table normally. However, when I simulate the role in RLS, BPs por Entidade is filtered, but PEOPLE VW_FACT_INDI is not. Why is that? How can I solve this problem? Hello everyone, We have Power BI Report Sevrer, with direct query dashboards on SSAS Tabular. When we click on a dashboard, it takes about 30 seconds to display because of a step called "ConceptualSchema". (see screenshot). I understand that it loads the SSAS model metadata, but 30 seconds each time it opens is unacceptable. Do you have this problem? Did you solve it? Thank you in advance for your help, Have a nice day, Vivien2.3KViews0likes5CommentsError with Row-Level Security (RLS) in Power BI when using DirectQuery with Multiple Data Sources
I have a question about Power BI. I have imported a table (dataflow) into Power BI. On this table (Dim_Users), I am using Row-Level Security (RLS) through a filter function on a column that contains email addresses. I filter this column using the userprincipalname() function. On my presentation page, I have only one table (Dim_Users) as a visualization, which displays all the users registered in my administration. When I publish this and test the security as a role, it works as intended. The visualization only shows the row from Dim_Users that corresponds to the role I am testing. However, when I add one table from another dataset via DirectQuery, without making any further changes, I immediately receive an error message when testing the RLS security on the only visualization (Dim_Users) shown in the report. The error code I receive is HTTP status code 401. Any idea why I am encountering this error message and how I can resolve it?983Views0likes1CommentIssue with Dynamic M Query Parameters Binding using Power BI Desktop RS version and DirectQuery Mode

Running a report from report server with DirectQuery to Oracle getting this error An unexpected error occurred. Please try again later. Please try again later or contact support. Make sure you've entered the connection string correctly.: Request ID: c5796563-fbd5-eaa6-7877-a340df8ea2d2 Time: Thu Dec 03 2020 09:53:28 GMT+1100 (Australian Eastern Daylight Time) Service version: /powerbi/libs Already tried the following: - The report works from the desktop - Converting the report to import mode and using the same Oracle data source works. Also scheduling the refresh with this import mode on the server works - when checking the data sources to do a test connection get this error An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'Oracle' that is either not registered for this report server or is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. - Checked the Oracle client version and the steps to register the .NET as covered in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/report-data/oracle-connection-type-ssrs?view=sql-server-ver15 Also on a side note, noticed that the option 'Oracle' is not showing up as a connection type when trying to add a new data source directly from the Power BI report server portal. Not sure if that is related. Are there any other setting that we may have missed? Environment: - Power BI report server May 2020 - Data source Oracle 12.c938Views0likes1Comment
