We are currently having issues connecting our PowerBI gateway to an Azure SQL Datasource.
Our current setup is a PowerBI Gateway configured for SSO with Kerberos constrained delegation.
For the datasource connection we have the authentication type as basic however under advanced settings we have the following setting checked "Use SSO via Kerberos and DirectQuery And Import Queries.
My thought are that Kerberos isnt support for Azure SQL so this is what is causing the issue. If anyone has any thoughts or has a statment from MS that would be really helpful
@DDavies1991 It does support Kerberos but you have to use Azure Active Directory authentication.
We have set the SQL Server for AD Authentication however we are still getting the same error with that SSO checkbox enabled 😞
