On-premise Power BI Report Server to On-premise SAP HANA SSO / SAML connection
Dears, we have an On-premise Power BI Report Server and On-premise SAP HANA. Would anyone guide to establish a connection with proper SSO / SAML configuration ? Kindly note: we have searched already and most of the links lead to Power BI cloud / service which is not our scenario. Thank you in advance.SAML SSO for HANA DB
Greetings friends, needing a Microsoft Engineer/employee or general expert to confirm my initial findings: For PBI Server, I was told by Microsoft several weeks back that AD/Kerberos SSO is my only option when using a HANA DB. Does everybody agree ? (My organization really would prefer to use SAML SSO against HANA, but that SAML functionality only exists in the Gateway, to be used with PBI Service) If question #1 is true, then is SAML SSO (against a HANA DB) scheduled to be implemented on the PBI Server development horizon any time soon ? If PBI Server SAML SSO (against a HANA DB) will not be implemented any time soon (or ever) and we use AD/Kerberos, do you know if "keytabs" are used by PBI Server ? Thanks for any and all input !
RedHat SSO and PowerBI communication
Hello, I'm looking for RedHat SSO (Open ID Connect or SAML protocols) and PowerBI communication. The little thing I find on the subject, it's quite complex custom. Have any of you already managed to implement this? If yes, how? Do you have any documentation or information on the subject? Is SSO with OAuth for data connection available in Report Server in 2020? I found this article mentioning that SSO using Kerberos to data sources was available and this was in 2017. However, I haven't seen info about SSO using OAuth for data connection yet. We're able to do OAuth SSO for data connection in Power BI Desktop but not Report Server.
PowerBI Gateway connection to Azure SQL
We are currently having issues connecting our PowerBI gateway to an Azure SQL Datasource. Our current setup is a PowerBI Gateway configured for SSO with Kerberos constrained delegation. For the datasource connection we have the authentication type as basic however under advanced settings we have the following setting checked "Use SSO via Kerberos and DirectQuery And Import Queries. My thought are that Kerberos isnt support for Azure SQL so this is what is causing the issue. If anyone has any thoughts or has a statment from MS that would be really helpfulPower BI Report Server SSO Configuration
Hello everyone, I have been trying to set up a Power BI Report Server instance to be accessed outside the organizational network using Azure AD Application Proxy but I have been having issues setting this up with the Application Proxy. The Report Server is to be accessed outside using the Power BI Mobile App. I heard there's a way to do it using KCD but I don't understand how it's done. Also. the URL from which it will be accessed from outside the organization will be customed. I would appreciate any and every help I can get in solving this.
