PowerBI Error Message if Directquery

Hello,

i installed PowerBI RS some minutes ago to try Direct Query. If I connect a PowerBI Dashboard with a DataSource for example a Server then I get the following error if I want to use this Dashboard.

" Es konnte keine Verbindung mit dem Analysis Services-Server hergestellt werden. Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie die Verbindungszeichenfolge richtig eingegeben haben.

Can someone help?

  • Hello !

What I understood is the report server can’t reach your data source  or the connection that you ppublished with a connector that PBIRS doesn’t support.

PBIRS only supports a subset of connectors in DirectQuery  like SQL Server, Oracle, SAP HANA, Teradata and if your model is live connection to AS, it’s not direct query against SQL/Oracle.

You may need to use live connection in this case maybe.
