Power BI workspace Capacity overloaded

Starting today, I have received the message of workspace capacity overloaded because the reports and apps in my workspace are unable to load properly. After investigation, it is highly likely that this is caused by the one in the screenshot. However, I understand that this is not a personal semantic model and I cannot find it in my workspace. I have checked the capacity ID of my workspace, but I cannot determine which other workspaces share the capacity ID with me.

Looking at the notification records, this file was adjusted seven hours ago today, and since then, this issue has been occurring. My current understanding is that the high refresh rate or excessive resource consumption caused all capacity ID reports to be rejected when sent to the server due to capacity overloaded issues

My problem is that I am unable to determine how many workspaces are using the same capacity ID as me. Due to permission restrictions, I am unable to find the workspace that typed this dataset and its owner
Based on the name, I guess this doesn't seem like a personal submission, but rather a platform level one. Have you encountered similar problems again? How did you solve it? Looking forward to your reply, thanks!

Hi Guo , Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.

Based on your description, it does sound like the capacity itself may be overloaded rather than there being an issue with your workspace specifically. When a shared Fabric capacity reaches its compute limits, interactive operations like loading reports and apps can be throttled or rejected until capacity usage drops. If the semantic model shown in the metrics isn't in your workspace, it doesn't necessarily mean it's yours. It could be another item on the same capacity, but without capacity-level permissions it's difficult to determine its owning workspace.

To identify which workspace and item are responsible for the capacity spike, you'll need access to the Fabric Capacity Metrics app, which requires capacity-level permissions. If you don't have those permissions, you'll need to work with your Capacity Administrator, who can use the Metrics app to drill into the affected timeframe and identify the workspace and workload responsible for the high capacity consumption.

Hi v-hashadapu ,Thank you very much for your reply.

I can no longer see the error message 'capacity overloaded' in my workspace, but I have found a worse situation. The reports that I set to automatically refresh have all failed due to capacity issues. I am currently unable to determine which specific workspace the semantic model that caused the capacity to exceed the limit belongs to. To access the Fabric Capacity Indicator application, which requires capacity level permissions, where can I see who has capacity level permissions? My permissions cannot perform these operations

According to the notification records, this semantic model doesn't look like a regular Powerbi report, and I'm more skeptical that it's a pipeline or something else. However, what's more important is how to contact the capacity administrator

Hi Guo , If you don't have capacity level permissions, there isn't a self-service way to identify the Capacity Administrator. Since you're a Microsoft employee, please reach out to your internal Fabric/Power BI administration team or the owner of the capacity, who can identify the Capacity Administrator and use the Fabric Capacity Metrics app to determine which workspace and item were responsible for the high capacity consumption during the affected timeframe.

      Hi v-csrikanth,
Sure.I found the file that may have caused this error through notification, but I do not have access to other workspaces. If you encounter it, you can contact the capacity administrator to investigate which workspace caused the capacity overload, or upgrade to a higher level of capacity. I hope this can help everyone
