Power BI Report Server on Azure Stack - Allowed?

Hi All,

 

I know that Power BI Report Server is not permitted to be used (from a licensing perspective) in a production capacity on Azure VMs.

 

I wanted to know if that restriction applies to Azure Stack as well, seeing that Azure Stack runs from within the client's datacenter, not on the Microsoft cloud, so there wouldn't be much difference between a VM in Azure Stack and a datacenter VM outside of Azure Stack.

    Yes, you can use either SQL licensing or Premium licensing to license the PBIRS instances running on Azure stack in your datacenter.

      Dear, What would the challenges/limitations be if the client has his own Azure private cloud using Azure Stack? Are we able to use the same services hosted by Azure Cloud such as PowerBI service not PBIRS How's the Power Platform is installed on Azure Stack... Thanks
