Power BI Report Server Unstable Service [Service Unavailable Error 503 / Named Pipes Error 40]

Hello,

We've currently setup our Power BI Report Server on a server and connected to the SQL Cluster (2 DBs) on a different server.

Everything worked as intended and we were able to upload Dashboards and able to navigate through the portal with a browser.

Now, the issue is that the service becomes unavailable in Power BI Report Server. when we looked closely we found that the connection between the Report Server and the DB goes down and the Report Server is unable to locate the DB. After a while the Server is able to connect the DB automatically and everything goes back normally. The issue is happening roughtly every 30 minutes.

We've checked with the network team and we found no issues in connection time-out or any other issues related to the network.

We've the latest version (January 2020) both on the Desktop and the Server, also we've installed SQL Server Report Server on the DB (I'm not sure if that's needed), and we've 4.8 .NET Framework.

We've tried to downgrade to September 2019 version and it produced the same results.

Here is the Exception generated in the RSPowerBI log file:

|ERROR|72|Error getting next eventSystem.Exception: ReportServerDatabaseUnavailableException ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. If there are suggestions on how to troubleshoot the issue it would appricate it kindly.

Thanks,

Nasser A.
