Power BI Report Server On-Premise (P1) and SQL Express

Hi,

We have installed Power BI On-Premise evalution edition to build the infrastrcture and installed SQL Express for that.

 

After purchasing the licenses for Power BI Report Server (P1), we've receieved the following error.

 

 

 

Do we have to upgrade from SQL Express to a higher edition? If not, do I have to rebuild the database or reinstall?

    Hi,

    which version of sql server express you installed?

    Server server must be:

     

    • SQL Server 2019
    • SQL Server 2017
    • SQL Server 2016
    • SQL Server 2014
    • SQL Server 2012

      Microsoft SQL Express 2017.

        I'm not sure but try SQL Server Express with Advanced Services first.

    Solved:

    I've Installed Microsoft SQL Enterprise 2017 edition and it fixed the issue.
