Hi,
There is a great guide to upgrading PBIRS however I cant find any info on the process for restoring to a previous edition should the upgrade fail or cause errors.
My guess is:
- stop service
- uninstall software
- install OLD software
- stop service
- restore databases
- restore config files
- start service
- restore encryption keys
Can anyone offer any advice on my plan?
Thanks in advance.

If your server is a virtual machine, I highly recommend just using the VM snapshot capabilities before doing the upgrade if that's available to you or to your server ops team. I cannot count the number of times that has saved me from having to use a complex backout plan. 🙂 Otherwise, what you laid out there looks pretty accurate to me.
