I have a simple 4 column report based off of a table that was imported as a dataset. Student Grade, Student Name, Hour, Tues Mar 7. I need to be able to sort a column, then sort another column while keeping the order from the other column. Example: I click the column Hour to sort by hour. Then I click the column Tues Mar 7 to sort by teacher. It should display the teacher names, but already sorted by hour since I have already sorted that column before this one. It somehow works correctly with student name. I sort by hour, then by student name, and the data displays the student names in order, and the hours in order. However, this does not work with the teacher column. Screenshot attached.
I had to find a workaround to correct. I combined the student grade to the back of their name in one cell, but it didn't fix issue. It seems to always hold the sort of the first column regardless of the sorting done on other columns. I moved the Hour column to the left as the first column, and now the sorting works correctly. Not sure what is going on, but it works for now.
