Load Balancer problem

Loadblancer for PowerBI Report Server throwing error for the new portal, as it is not able to connect to the database for the origianl power BI report server.
Scale out deployment step has gone smoothly, but something is missing.
I have also copied the encryption key.

Service account used for both PBIRS is also same.
I have followed this:
Configure a Native Mode Report Server Scale-Out Deployment - SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) | ...
any help would be appreciated.
also if this is wrong portal to post issues, pls redirect me.

We now evidently have the following:

  • a Windows server with the appropriate hostname added to the hosts-file, with it’s 10.x.x.x IP
  • PBIRS serving that hostname and 127.0.0.1 /reports/ -path
  • 3rd party LB serving PBIRS to remote browsers
  • being able to browse, remotely, to https://hostname/reports/
  • Being able to log in
  • Being able to browse reports
  • Getting the following error rendered in the portal when opening a report
    • An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot create a connection to data source 'REDACTED'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection)
ERROR [28000] FATAL 3781: Invalid username or password ERROR [28000] FATAL 3781: Invalid username or password
  • Nothing in Windows Event logs nor PBIRS LogFiles.
  • Same behavior with browsing to http://127.0.0.1/reports from the server itself
  • Instant credential-input-loop when browsing from the server itself to https://hostname/reports

My bet is on authentication somehow not hitting the right notes and missing a little. The LB is configured to translate both address and port, to make the tcp-sessions arriving at the server originate from the LB, because of network technical reasons.
@v-cazheng-msft , hope that answers your question.
Please let me know if you need to know more.

Hi @hussainsyed ,

May I know whether you still have problem on it? What kind of error are you receiving? If it sill exits, could you please make it more clear?
