Issue with Tabular Layout for Matrix Visual in Power BI Report Server (Version 1.20.8910.25479)

Hello,

I am encountering an issue with the matrix visual's tabular layout in Power BI Report Server. In the May 2024 release of Power BI Desktop RS, the option to set the "Layout" to "Tabular" was introduced. When I configure the layout to "Tabular" in Power BI Desktop RS (May 2024), the visual displays correctly.

However, after publishing the report to Power BI Report Server (Version 1.20.8910.25479, May 2024), the matrix visual defaults back to the "Compact" layout instead of retaining the "Tabular" format.

I suspect that the current version of the server might not support the updated matrix visual. Has anyone else experienced this issue, or does anyone have insights on how to address this discrepancy?

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi, @burcinkermen and everyone,

This is a known issue and is currently being fixed. If your report is affected, please use the Power BI Desktop RS version for January, which you can download by clicking on the link below:

Download Microsoft Power BI Desktop (Optimized for Power BI Report Server - January 2024) from Offic...

Then close Step Layout:

Hi,

We have still the same issue and use the latest version  (Downloaded 2024-06-18 May version 15.0.1115.178). We use the regular Matrix in a on-premise enviroment from Microsoft and it looks like the option switch values to row' is not working properly. In the regular PowerBI version this option it's moved though in the On-premise version it's available under 'Values'- 'Options'. Perhaps this information can help in finding a solution.

Kind regards

Unfortunately, installing the June 10 bug-fix release of Power BI Report Server did not help resolve this issue.

If you can live with the table visual instead of the matrix visual until Microsoft fixes the bug, the table visual works.

I uninstalled the desktop application and installed the January version and it works!!! even with the server on the newer May version. give it a try.
