Is there Any way to automate power BI reports

Hi
I have power BI report server and I have done the report server configuration. Now to see the reports generally we do upload the reports and to sync with database. We are providing the credential and scheduling it.
All those thing we are doing it manually. Is there any way we can automate the manual steps.

Thanks

Nikkum

There is an API for the Service where you can do this kind of thing, not sure if there is an equivalent for Report Server.

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

sqldbawithabeard has some powershell to help

Not tried them but looks useful.

Solutions works fine till data source. But how to automate till auto schedule.

Thanks,

Nikkum

Hi,

what kind of database are you using as source?
If it's MS SQL Server u can do something like this:
1. Create .ps1 scripts to automate whings.

2. Create SQL Server Proxy Account with cmdExec perms.

3. Create Job

   a) create step with CmdExec type

   b) and use Proxy Account as executor

4. Create scheduler for job (it's your automatic execution)

I used this solution and it's working fine for me.

Thanks for your response. I am using SQL 2017. Can you please send me the sample .ps1 script for PBIRS.

Thanks,

Nikkum

I can't but try to use script from link above and create job to schedule.

It worked for me.
