How to use an excel file from local desktop to share with external users

Hi,

As part of my datasets some sources include excel files from my desktop. I've set up a gateway for my SQL data which works fine however I cannot seem to understand how to set up the excel file so that it automatically refreshes and is available to all my end users.

I've tried putting them in a sharepoint/onedrive folder and then using the direct link as the source data but I can't get it to work.

Could someone please advise on how to set up excel file correctly? Do I require a gateway and if so, how do I reference the excel file?
