HI,
I've set up a scale-out deployment solution with two instnaces of the PBIRS that are connected to same database. Now, I'd like to use a hostheader as common URL i.e. instead of both http://server1/ReportServerPBI and http://server2/ReportServerPBI, I'd like to use http://mycoolreports/ReportServerPBI. By using the report server configuration manager I've added the hostheader mycoolreports to both servers, but I'm not able to connect to my common URL http://mycoolreports/ReportServerPBI. I got the 404 error. The individual server URLs are accessible. I didn't receive any error entries in the logs. NLB is not being used.
Could you guide me how to solve the issue ?
I'm using this solution in my production SSRS 2012 environment without any issues.
Thanks,
Bobi
Hi Bobi,
PBIRS itself does not support single point of access for scale-out deployment. If you want a common URL for multiple machines, consider using NLB (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/report-server/configure-a-report-server-on-a...)
Regards,
Krisztian
Hi @krisztb,
thanks for your feedback. Since PBRIS is a superset of SSRS, I was expecting that hostheaders are supported. Is there any chance to fix it in the next release ?
Is there a way to change the URL of http://server1/ReportServerPBI into http://mycoolreports/ReportServerPBI ?
Thanks,
Bobi
