Hi All,
I'm not versed in regards to https security and such so please bare with me if this is a dumb question.
I have an on premise power bi server setup which is currently running http. Within our dns I've had I.S. enter an alias to point to the server so that our users can use that rather than the server name/ip address. (Alias is portailinfo)
Management wants me to switch the server over to https rather than http as we may open the report portal up and they want to ensure an added layer of security.
I asked our I.S. department to create a certificate for the server so I could apply it. (Here is where I get a little hazy as I'm not familiar with certificates or their creation)
In the DNS listing of the certificate there are 6 entries.
1) server name
2) server name + internal domain name
3) server name + external domain name
4) alias (portailinfo)
5) alias + internal domain name
6) alias + external domain name
When I setup the server in http I was able to not qualify a host header to allow a user to enter http://portailinfo/accueil (accueil is the virtual drive).
Unfortunately I am not able to do this with https. The only url that works is if I enter https://portailinfo.internaldomainname/accueil.
Is there anyway I can change that so I can have https://portailinfo/accueil?
Sorry if this is long winded, just want to make sure I'm explaining myself.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Serge
