Hi All,
I got a question about a Gateway Install. So I created a dashboard in Power BI that has a live connection to a database we are using. Tomorrow one of my sales colleagues will present the dashboard somewhere. When I published the dashboard I got a notification that I need to install a gateway. So my question is as follows: If I install a gateway on the virtual machine (where the database + pbix files are), am I then able to publish it and are there other steps I need to take to make this work? Thanks in advance

@Gjakovasc
The gateway acts as a middleman between the Power BI service and an on-prem data source, you publish the report and then go to the data source settings and it will prompt you to add it to the gateway. You can pre-test / set it up like this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-gateway-data-sources
