Hi, @satya_bhotra

This can be due to a number of reasons, such as incorrect credentials, unavailability of the data source, or misconfiguration of the gateway.
You can follow the steps below to troubleshoot the problem:
1. Ensure that the data source your report is trying to access is available and accessible. For example, if you are using SQL Server, make sure the server is up and running and the database is accessible.

Perform a ping operation on the data source server. Use the SQL client to connect directly to the database and verify accessibility
2. Verify that the credentials provided for the data source are correct. You may need to re-enter them in the Power BI service.
3. Ensure that the local data gateway is configured correctly. The gateway should be installed, running, and properly configured to connect to the data source
4. In the Power BI service, go to the Manage Gateways section and test the connection to ensure that the gateway can connect to the data source without any problems.
5. Navigate to the workspace where the report was published. Go to Data Sets. Locate the dataset used for the report and click the ellipsis (three dots) next to it. Select Settings. Under the Gateway Connections section, ensure that the correct gateway cluster is selected. Under the Data Source Credentials section, re-enter and apply the data source credentials
6. Ensure that the user running the report has the appropriate permissions to access the data source.

Hi @hackcrr ,

Thank you for looing in this matter.

Yes all the above 6 points are checked.

I have few queries,

1) We have used a centralized windows server and installed the gateway using the service account.Does the  account running the gateway service need to have the necessary permissions to access the Oracle database.

2)  firewall settings on the On-premises data gateway need to be opened and ensure that the required ports are open.Do youknow what all the ports?

So here source ip will be user's desktop

Gateway ip will be the server ip where gateway is instaled and

Destination ip is where  Database server is hosted.

Please let me know if any thing else is missed or any changes .

Thank you,

Satya
