Error uploading .rdl file to Report Server developer edition

Hi guys,

I am using Report Server developer edition. I logged in as Admin and upload a Paginated Report file (.rdl - 46.8KB), then it shows an error message like this.

Error.PNG

This is the first time I try to upload .rdl file to my Report Server. Uploading .pbix file is still okay.

I would really appreciate any help. Thank you!

You should try checking the log files. These are normally found at the following location: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Report Server\PBIRS\LogFiles". If you sort by date then look in the latest ReportServerService*.log file hopefully that will have more details which will help you identify the cause of this issue.

Hi @d_gosbell

Thank you for your answer. Our dev team did exactly that earlier and found out that the Data Source in the .rdl file is pointed to a local SQL Server using that PC's Windows authentication. The Report Server I was trying to access cannot access such source, so it returned an error.

The dev advises me to rebuild the report using a shared SQL Server, with its SQL Server Authentication to fix this error.
