Hi All,
We are using the On-prem version of Power BI Desktop (Oct 2017) and Report Server to build a large dashboard project. We have two developers working on the project and we need them to be able to work on different aspects of the project that are in the same pbix file.
How do we do this? Can multiple developers work on the same PBIX project? If not now, will this be a feature in coming in future releases?
Having seperate pbix files is not really an option for us, as it will create a very disjointed user experience.
If we could create PBI Dashboards using the On-Prem report server this might be a work around for us, but that functionality is missing at present. Will it be added and when?
With SSRS this would not be a problem.......... is this a red line issue for Power BI?
Any comments / advice welcome.
Thanks in advance.
Rob
Hi @Anonymous,
1. Based on my test, the same pbix file can't be opened within Power BI desktop by two users at the same time. You can adjust two developers work on pbix file at differnet time.
2. The feature to support dashboards in Power BI report server is under review by product team, you can vote on this idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/19317820-support-dashboards-in-power-bi-report-server
