Custom Visuals to PBIRS

Newbie question here... 🙂

PBIRS (OnPremise)

So I designed a report with imported custom visuals.  When this report gets published to PBIRS, how does it know about the imported custom visuals?  Does it get published to the PBIRS exclusively to that report only?  Also, how will the custom visuals be permanently imported to the PBIDesktop so that they don't need to be imported for every report?

When you import the visual into a report it gets included in the PBIX file that is generated. if you rename the PBIX to .ZIP you can in fact Unzip it and if you then unzip the data mashup (you need to use a recent version of 7zip) inside this you can see the details, code and resources of the PBI Custom Visuals that have been imported into the report.

So the visual is embedded in that particular report, it gets unzipped and delivered to the end users web browser where it runs.

The visual is only available in the report it is imported into. If you want it in multiple reports you have to import it into each report.
