Custom Visuals not working?

Hello,

I am not sure where to post this:

We are using Power BI RS version 2.51.4885.1423 64-bit (october 2017).

Most of the custom visuals are generating the "Your version of Power BI Desktop does not support this custom visual." error.

For example, I am trying to use bullet chart by OKviz and only a very old version (2.0.7) works. All the custom visuals work fine with the latest version of Power BI Desktop, but I can't upload the workbooks to the report server, as RS is an older version (October 2017).

Can anyone help?

Thanks!!

There is a new version of PBI Report Server. Can you upgrade it?

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56722

because it is report server, many users can't just upgrade to latest as they'll have to get their company's IT to upgrade the server.  Coordinating this is non trivial as it impacts all reports, users, stored visuals, etc.

The fact that there's no version tracking/history on the appsource is problematic.

Even worse, In my case I haven't changed my report server version OR the visuals I've saved locally that used to work.  I _STILL_ get th error.. same report server desktop AND same visual I downloaded 6 months ago.. still reporting incompatibility.. but I have existing reports that use them.

It doesn't say what the incompatibility is, api versions supported by desktop or required by the visual, it just says 'update to latest'..  it is very frustrating, like working off a small open source program not a microsoft office product.

Did anyone get this sorted? I'm experiencing the same issue.... I've got one custom visual (Dynamic Tooltip) which used to work on my Power BI desktop and now it doesnt anymore.

I haven't updated the Power BI Desktop version or changed the power BI file (which has the .pbiviz incorporated), but it doesnt work anymore. When I try to use it, I get the "your version of power BI desktop does not support this custom visual" error.

Thanks,

Marcelo.
