Can I select several sheets from the report

Can I select several sheets from the report instead of loading all pages of the entire report into the app when creating an app

Hi,@Wanglf .I am glad to help you.

I rediscovered another alternative for you (using a navigation page + jump buttons + hiding the target page), which I think is better than the above two alternatives
You can do this by adding a navigation page to the report (page4 in the image)

Add a back button to other pages so that users can click back to the navigation page and hide the pages you don't want to show to users. You can also set up the RLS to ensure that users accessing the app only see the corresponding report page, realizing data protection.

Create the app in workspace and turn on the option: Access to hidden content
Ensure that audience users have access to hidden content

Add audience users to the app and share Link to the audience users.

Realize the end result:
Your users will only see what they can see after the RLS restriction, and you can set up page hopping buttons that allow you to freely choose which pages are visible and can be accessed by the user via the buttons, improving the interactivity of the report.

Setting a jump button for the report to hide the target page is more convenient and easier than setting a dashboard as I provided before, and it makes the report more interactive, I hope my suggestion is helpful to you.

I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

Best Regards,

Carson Jian,

Hi,@Wanglf .I am glaf to help you.

I have some questions about several terms involved in your description, and I hope you can give me a detailed answer, with the necessary screenshots and sample pbix files (no sensitive data included)

"Can I select several sheets from the report instead of loading all pages of the entire report into the app when creating an app"

By sheets do you mean table vsiuals (and other visuals) in the report created in power bi desktop?

vjtianmsft_0-1726453713330.png

When you mention apps do you mean power BI Applications, a member of the power bi workspace, or do you mean Power Apps (there is a difference between  them)

1.
Publish an app in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
2.
What is Power Apps? - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

May I ask which app you are describing
Here are my suggestions, I hope they will help you.
1. If you mean the former: elements in the power bi workspace, power bi applications.
Currently the applications in power BI don't seem to support embedding of reports by selecting a page or a few viusals and setting the audience for them individually.
But you can get around this limitation by creating a dashboard:
Take a report page/separate visual pin that you need to display separately in Applications and put it into a new dashboard, or make it a one-page report and store the dashboard (one-page report) in Power BI Applications. In fact, the existence of a dashboard makes up for the lack of flexibility of the report itself. You are free to select one or more report visuals (or entire report pages), pin them to a separate dashboard, and then add this dashboard to the application. This way, users can see the specific visualizations you have chosen in the application, optimizing the performance of the presentation and improving the user experience.

For this, the official documentation gives the same advice:

vjtianmsft_1-1726453818147.png

URL:Publish an app in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

2. If by apps you mean Power Apps.
You want to embed a specific Power BI report page in Power Apps instead of loading the entire report.
You can try to use Power BI's REST API or the Power BI controls in Power Apps to accomplish your needs.
Below is the documentation on this, which I hope you find helpful.
URL:

Embed a Power BI report in a model-driven app main form - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn
Embed a report in Power BI embedded analytics | Microsoft Learn

Note that in this case, you need to have an adequate foundation in API programming or ensure that you have members of your team who are skilled in using the Power BI restAPI.

I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.
