The GA Announcement says:
View Excel Reports in Power BI –You can now view those pixel perfect Excel Reports directly from Power BI, exactly as you would in Excel Online
Anyone know how to do this. I know it can import Powerviews, but i'm looking for it to display Excel Reports.
Technically, the service is supposed to render regular (non power view based) content in high fidelity, much like Excel Services work in Sharepoint. So your pivot charts on regular Excel sheets and Power View sheets should render when you publish a workbook to the server.
However, and I would love to be wrong on this, it doesn't seem to be working like this quite yet. The closest I have gotten was to create a link to my report on Sharepoint online, but it's not really integrated with the service

Thanks for the quick response Jen!
It looks like all this does it create a link on the PowerBI site to a file in my OneDrive. I don't like this for a few reasons.
1) The file is in OneDrive.... onedrive goes away when the user leaves. Can I suggest that it links over to the "PowerBI for Office365" area
2) I can't auto update the data model to a file in onedrive.
Is there a future plan to enhance this?
You are right... All that this article explains is how to surface data from Excel into Power BI.
I know what you're saying about publishing Excel reports in Power BI (as in with Excel Services). I know this is possible because I saw a Power BI developer showing this to me in a live demo at Microsoft! So I know it is posdible, but they changed the interface so much that I cannot tell now how they did it (or if they just dropped support for it...) 😞
