Sharing dashboard on Analysis Services Tabular outside of your organization

Hi all,

I have done a dashboard using a tabular model, Direct Query, that is in my on-Prem company (using Enterprise Gateway).

I published it and all was fine, but when I try to share the dashboard with people outside my organization they get this message.

The tabular model has no security roles and the account used to access to SSAS Tabular is a server administrator.

The report was built in Power Bi Pro and also the people outside organization have Power Bi Pro version.

Maybe is not possible sharing dashboard outside of your organization, that using Analysis Services Tabular?

I'm not able to find any documentation about it.

Thank you.

I'm running into the same problem.  If the external user doesn't exist in AD they should be mapped to anonymous or something similar and still be allowed access subject to any roles that are in place.  If not this defeats the whole purpose of being able to share externally.

@chiarama I want to comment on so I recieve notificatons from other comments. But sharing a dashboard externally using tablar model live connection doesn't seem to work for me either... Which I would expect since UPN's are passed back into the model, but the documentation I do see says as long as role / RLS isn't applied it implies that it should work...

Maybe @GuyInACube could chime in if he see's this post to help resolve the question.
