All of my attempts to refresh my Salesforce data sets are failing even though the refresh is successful to Power BI Desktop
I was able to refresh my datasets this morning around 9:00am (PST) but now I get error messages whenever I try to refresh.
Hi @Megachuckmc were you able to find a solution? As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:
There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
@Megachuckmc Can you provide more information on how you connect to your data source ? If you're using any gateways I would suggest you uninstall and then install latest ones.
I am consistently having the same issue. I am using the Salesforce Sales Manager Content Pack and also the Salesforce Report Content Pack.
If I delete the dataset and then add it back, it will work for Day 1 but all scheduled refreshes fail after this point.
I'm not using a Gateway but connecting directly to Salesforce.com. The problem appears to be related to making changes to the queries from Power BI desktop and then attempting to refresh the datasource directly from the source (SFDC) to the Power BI service. I'm not sure why this doesn't work, but I found a number of different posts that pointed me in that direction.
