Excel power query can connect to share point file, but not to share point folder

Hello all,

I want to use power query with a share point folder, to transform multiple files into one data source.

Unfortunately, I am not able to "authenticate" to the folder, but to a single file.

I googled my butt off, but all tips with connections don't change anything and since I can access one of the files in said folder, I assume it doesn't have anything to do with the actual authentication?!

What I am trying:

1. get share point url in web browser via info "copy path"

2. open workbook in excel desktop app

3. go to: data > get & transform data > from web > past share point path

From here on I am stuck. I am getting always the same error message regardless the authentication method:

“We couldn’t authenticate with the credentials provided. Please try again.”

Same credentials work if I use the path directly to one of the files within that folder.

So please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you.

Unfortunately, I do not have the share point option within the get data menu.

Quick google search told me that I am on a 365 business subscription, but the menu is only available with enterprise. Is there any other way to connect to the folder? As I mention, I was able to use from web to connect to a single file in that share point folder without issues.

@Syndicate_Admin  This solution is for power bi data connectivity. Thank You!!
